A wolf-like creature that killed over 100 people in 18th-century France.

The Account

Between 1764 and 1767, in the Margeride Mountains, something the size of a calf tore out the throats of shepherds and children. King Louis XV sent hunters. A great wolf was finally shot. The killings stopped.
