The Elevator to the Other Floor

There is a ritual whispered online: ride an elevator alone, press the floors in a certain sequence, and on the fifth floor a woman will enter — do not speak to her. If the elevator rises when it should descend, you have arrived somewhere else: a building exactly like yours, lit red, utterly empty. The only rule that matters is to ride straight back. Some report the woman now waits for them in their own building's lobby.
