In 1900, three lighthouse keepers vanished from a rock in the Outer Hebrides. The lamp was clean, the table set for a meal half-eaten, one chair overturned. The log spoke of a storm that the mainland never recorded — of one keeper weeping, another silent, the third praying. Then nothing. The sea keeps its confessions, seeker, and gives back only the lamp.
